Greetings and welcome to the WORKFORCE plus website!  We are excited to have the opportunity to assist you with your workforce needs. WORKFORCE plus, through an aggressive and proactive Board of Directors works to ensure that our community has a well-prepared, educated, and adaptable workforce that meets the current and future needs of its employers.   WORKFORCE plus  is the regional workforce development board for Gadsden, Leon and Wakulla counties and is charged with building and strengthening the region’s workforce in the 21st century and beyond.

What are our key priorities? 

Our first priority is providing businesses with a skilled workforce to create economic vitality.   As a business executive myself, I can appreciate the challenges of finding qualified employees who have the right combination of skills, talent and experience. The business consultant staff that work within the WORKFORCE plus service delivery system are available to assist the business community in making their interactions with the labor market easier and more effective. Our second priority is providing job services, training and employment assistance to people looking for work.

Under the WORKFORCE plus  umbrella, a wide variety of employment programs can be found which range from working with Veterans who may be in need of work or training, connecting persons with disabilities to opportunities to enhance their lives, working with executives and mid-level managers to secure employment and networking opportunities through our Executive Center, assisting former welfare recipients as they make a transition into work, linking youth with opportunities through our First Connect program all through an enhanced service delivery system found within the 4 WORKFORCE plus offices located in the region.

WORKFORCE plus is committed to encouraging region and statewide economic development by cultivating a well-trained workforce. To accomplish this goal, WORKFORCE plus  provides the necessary  assistance to area job seekers by assessing their employability skills and provides training as appropriate for identified sectors of growing employment demand. Ideally, this will lead to the placement of these individuals in self-sufficient employment. WORKFORCE plus also provides follow-up services leading to employment retention in high-wage and high-skilled jobs. These services are provided in Gadsden, Leon and Wakulla counties while maintaining our focus on the economic needs of each county.

It goes without saying that we value our role as a community resource, recognizing that we must be an open gateway to information and services that address the needs of our community.
